Lale's Camp

Lale’s Camp is an ultra-remote, exclusive-use tented camp on the banks of the Omo River in southwest Ethiopia’s wild Lower Omo Valley, co-founded by legendary guide Lale Biwa. Seven spacious, en-suite Meru tents are spaced along the high riverbank beneath shady tamarind trees, their gauze ‘windows’ drawing in the breeze and the sounds of the African night. Reached only by boat after a light-aircraft flight, the camp offers privileged, respectful access to some of the continent’s most fascinating traditional cultures: the Kara, Hamar, Mursi and Nyangatom. Boating, walking and immersive cultural encounters reveal a way of life found nowhere else. Taking just twelve guests, Lale’s is a rare and authentic frontier adventure.
